Description
#0001 Trans Europa Express on YouTube
Ballfinger Music #0001
Release Date: 1. April 2026
Behind the simple number combination #0001 hides the complete re-recording of Kraftwerk’s iconic album “Trans Europa Express” from 1977. For this purpose, the two Düsseldorf-based professional musicians Thomas Kruesselmann and Hans-Peter Fassbender have disassembled the original work into all its individual parts in forensic detail work, analyzed it and re-recorded it using modern recording technology. The result is a very balanced and faithful album with a refreshingly modern sound. The fact that this is a completely new recording is revealed above all by Thomas Kruesselmann’s voice: large-diaphragm microphones and tube amplifiers were used here, giving the sparsely used vocals precision, elegance and more presence. The album was analog mastered in Ballfinger Music’s new in-house studio in Krefeld, 20 kilometers north of Duesseldorf.
Please note: This release is the second pressing from 2026. This version has been specially remixed and remastered for analogue master tape copies and features greater dynamic range and a more spacious sound.
